George played baseball at Kenmore High School and attended Akron U where he played his  freshman year.

He was head coach of Hudson High from 1961-1985. He won 308 varsity games, 2 sectional  championship and 2 district championships. In 1977 they won 18 consecutive games (he believed in never washing your uniform after a win, there was lucky dirt on it.)

He was inducted into the Ohio High School Baseball Coaches association in 1982. In 1984 Hudson officials named one of its fields Sosebee Field.

He felt honored to have met players and families that loved the game as much as him.
