Bill Morris was a three-year varsity shortstop and pitcher at Stow High School. A left-handed hitter and right-handed pitcher, he earned All-Metro honors as both a junior and senior. During his senior season, Bill was named First Team All-Ohio as both a pitcher and shortstop.
During the summer, Bill played for the Hoban Knights travel team and Akron Omnicor in the Greater Akron AA League, where he earned multiple All-Star selections.
Bill continued his baseball career at The Ohio State University, where he was a four-year varsity letterman from 1985 to 1988. He started for two seasons at shortstop and two seasons at third base.
Bill made an immediate impact with the Buckeyes, hitting a home run in his first varsity game as a freshman. He later led the team with a nine-home run season.
