Andy Pfaff graduated from Akron South High School and The University of Akron. His officiating career has spanned 46 years, beginning with basketball in 1963, football in 1967, and baseball in 1978.
As an OHSAA baseball umpire for 25 years, Andy officiated seven Akron City Series Championships, 21 OHSAA Regional games, and nine OHSAA State Finals. He also worked collegiate games at The University of Akron, Kent State University, Malone University, and in the Ohio Athletic Conference.
In addition to his work on the field, Andy has been a leader in sports officiating throughout Northeast Ohio. He served as Past President of the Summit Umpires Association, the Greater Akron Basketball Association, and the Greater Akron Touchdown Club. He also served as the Coordinator of Football Officials for the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) for 23 years.
Andy’s contributions to athletics and officiating have been recognized with his induction into both the Summit County Hall of Fame and the Summit County Sports Hall of Fame.
