Year Inducted – 2021

Longtime Southeast High School baseball coach, Dave Clegg, enters the GABHoF coaching for 37 years.  Dave, known as an extremely hard worker, made sure his players performed well in school.  To him, coaching meant much more than just the game.  His focus was teaching each player to become productive and responsible adults.  While helping his players with high school’s challenges, he compiled a record of 319-280.  It should be known that Dave Clegg never avoided scheduling the tough non-league schools.

Dave played Hot Stove baseball in Edinburg and was a three-sport athlete for Southeast High School.  He pitched four years for Kent State University and served as captain his senior year.  Dave also played adult amateur baseball – four years with the Hudson Mohawk Chiefs, several years with teams in Youngstown, and finally with the Indians in the Roy Hobbs League.  Married to Emmy Lou for 38 years, Dave has two daughters, a son, and many grandkids.
