John AlexanderWas inducted into Major League Hall of Fame in Cooperstown in 2001. He was a top-notch second baseman for the 1881 Akron Independents, considered the best baseball team in the country at that time. Bid played 18 pro years with Cincinnati Amer. Assoc. and National League and managed the Redlegs in 1901-02. He had a .271 lifetime average including .305 ('96), .304 ('94), .301 ('97).
