Rich RangoPlayed on youth teams in Cleveland area. Was outstanding shortstop, hitter and base runner at Parma Sr. High (1963-66) and at Kent State U (1966-70), where he led Flashes in stolen bases, runs scored and hitting ('69-70).398 average. Became All-Star shortstop/centerfielder with Champion Akron Insulating teams, 1970-1975. He led the powerful insulating team in batting with a .398 average in 1970. This was quite an accomplishment in view of the team's roster of all-stars.
